Good News Club Update

We were given permission by the school PTO (used to be called PTA) to have a table at the school carnival. We had a lot of parents asking about the Good News Club and made a lot of contacts. We received seven permission forms for the first week (over double from last year) and seven more the second week. We currently have fourteen kids enrolled. We are also getting to know the parents, and are excited to minister to one family in particular. This family has visited our church, and I am excited that we are able to love them where they are, and meet some of their needs. That is what GNC is all about! We minister not just to kids, but to families as well. It makes a huge difference to have the support of the SCC body!

Our team this year is Nancy Stephens (our newcomer/teacher), Robert Eddy (Helper Extraordinaire/Crowd Control/etc.), Geni Shields (assistant teacher/song leader [who can sing on key]), Carol Duggan (on call substitute/helper), and myself, Tina Marantette (administrator/fill in). The team is smaller this year, but God knows what we need and we are doing well so far. It has been a smoother start because we did the ground breaking last year. I thank last year’s team, which included the Ollgaards, who all stuck it out while laying the foundation with the school.

Thank you for your prayers and support!
